In patients with PNH, red blood cells can be destroyed by the action of complement, leading to low red blood cell counts (anemia), fatigue, multi-organ dysfunction, chronic pain, dark urine, shortness of breath, and blood clots. Eculizumab can block the body\u2019s inflammatory response and its ability to attack and destroy its own vulnerable blood cells (PNH cells).
